Job Vacancy: Award-Winning Pub Restaurant Kitchen Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team in this multi award winning pub/restaurant.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to learn and grow within the kitchen environment. This role is essential in supporting the kitchen staff with meal preparation, food safety practices, Cleaning, Pot washing, hygiene maintenance, and ensuring a smooth operation during service times. Previous experience in catering or restaurant settings is not essential.
This role is ideal for a person who is looking to start a career as a chef/cook in the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
Support chefs with cooking tasks, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
Help with the setup and serving of meals during service periods.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is not essential we would like to train you to our requirements.
Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is not essential we will provide training.
Experience in meal preparation and food preparation techniques is not required as w will train you to our standards.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.
A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field.
Experience in catering or restaurant settings is an advantage but not a requirement.
Flexibility and commitment, including the ability to work on Christmas Day.
A positive attitude and a genuine passion for great food.
Hours:
5 days a week (10am-9pm)
Minimum of 50 hours.
