The Woodman inn is an award winning traditional English pub, with a warm and inviting atmosphere incorporating a restaurant and function room along with its own dedicated bar and entrance make the venue ideal for an affordable smaller wedding. The gardens are also lovely and can be used for outdoor ceremonies or receptions. The venue is licenced and approved by the local authority to conduct civil ceremonies.
The Woodman is ideal for seating up to 60 guests for the ceremony and wedding breakfast and increasing to 100 for the evening reception.
It is situated in the small village of Water End just a few miles north of the M25 (J23) making it easily accessible from London and other parts of the UK. There is also plenty of parking available. (50 cars) Guests can book and stay locally at a choice of hotels.
Every wedding is unique and so you are not tied to any specific package. The venue offers fully bespoke, made on site, meal options including buffet, sit-down table service or even carvery which has been a very popular choice for many of our wedding parties.

"23 of us visited this carvery for lunch and we were sat in a private area to the side of the restaurant, what a great space! The food was amazing, fresh and hot. I could not fault any of the carvery. The desserts were exceptional too. As for the waitress service, they were friendly, professional and nothing was too much bother. I could not recommend this establishment enough. Such lovely people and great food!"
"Party of 4 enjoyed something from all 3 courses and everyone was impressed. The manager must be so impressed because the team showed excellent customer service and nothing was too much trouble. There was also lots of families present and the staff managed to dodge around the unsupervised and loose children. I had all 3 meats and loads of veggie and was stuffed. I struggled though a chocolate dessert with difficulty and our meal was topped off by a Latte. I haven't been here for a while and I can see I'm going to have to pay another visit soon. Highly recommended."
Very lovely food and everyone was friendly and helpful Had 2 separate birthday celebrations here and I cannot fault anything, nothing was too much trouble. The staff were amazingly patient and the food is always delicious. Highly recommend this venue! Thank you and well done to all.
"Went to a marriage blessing on Saturday 24th august 2019, it was absolutely fabulous, Jana and her team went above and beyond, the hot carvery was lovely and so was the cold buffet, the restaurant was transformed into a banqueting hall dressed in blue and white with lovely blue bows on the chairs, crisp white table clothes, white flowered garlands around the doors, the rear garden was transformed into a outside chapel with flowered gate, flowered arch. white and blue chairs for the guests, absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend The woodman for a venue situated in a stunning English quintessence hamlet."

"Went to The Woodman Inn for the first time on Sunday (11/11/2018) for their carvery. The food was lovely, and I agree with the other comments that you won’t find a better carvery around, better than TC! Empty dishes were quickly replenished with fresh, and they even had a homemade steak & kidney pie on offer which was delicious! Our waitress Sam really made us feel welcome and was very attentive. We’ll be back again really soon!"
