The Welwyn and Hatfield Times recently asked all their readers to vote for their favourite pub over a period of a few weeks. The top 5 pubs were put into the final race where only physical paper votes sent by post were allowed. The votes were counted and The Woodman Inn was the winner. The Woodman Inn, Warrengate Road, North Mymms celebrated the winning of “Your Favourite Pub” last Friday with a party for its customers. The competition, run by Welwyn Hatfield Times, saw the pub’s customers voting individually for their favourite pub and they won.
The family-owned bar and restaurant, which is known for its great selection of beers, wines and spirits as well as its quality Sunday carvery and sort after homemade Goulash, was honoured with a trophy and banner to show off the win. They also had a visit from the local MP Grant Shapps who congratulated the owner, manager, and staff for their efforts. (Article Here)
The manager, Jana Suchanska was applauded for her work in making the pub such a success and was presented with a gift from the customers at the party. “I am so happy that we have been recognised as a great pub and I thank our wonderful regular customers for their continuing support” said Jana.
“We have held events since lockdown and our customers are just amazing. We raised £5300 for Prostate Cancer charity and since raised money to purchase a defibrillator in case of emergency.”
The Woodman Inn and Restaurant is a charming local pub offering a venue for people to come for a drink in the bars, gardens or eat in the restaurant. Plus it is even licenced to hold civil ceremonies.
